BRIEF:

We were approached by our client with an exciting premise – a brand new range of men’s grooming products. The client himself was a barber and had identified a gap in the market for high quality men’s personal care with thoughtful, natural ingredients that, quite simply, “ticked all the boxes”. Starting with beard oil, the range would expand to other skincare and haircare products.

The brand would eschew aggressive, overtly masculine styling in favour of an approach that was supportive, non-judgmental, and aimed to inspire confidence while destigmatising men taking care of their appearance.

Solution:

Focused Marketing undertook a brand strategy workshop with the client to clearly define their objectives. After careful consideration we landed on the name Postiche, a term that refers to hairpieces worn by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt; a symbol of sophistication and power.

We crafted an elegant and minimalist brand using lots of white space and natural, rustic textures with accents of black and metallic copper foil. Focused Marketing facilitated all aspects of the brand launch, such as designing the packaging, art directing the product photoshoot and building Postiche’s online store.

Outcome:

Postiche was proudly launched to the world in December 2020, just in time for the Christmas rush. The range now includes beard oil, shampoo and conditioner with tempting blends of peppermint or patchouli and bergamot.
